What we found worked was to create a routine. After feeding sit your child on the potty seat without a nappy. Let him get used to what it feels like to sit there this way. Explain that this is what Mummy and Daddy do every day. That undressing before you sit down to go to the bathroom is the grown up thing to do. If he gets the idea and produces something, that's fine. But don't push him to perform.

It takes time but it does work.
